Our New album part 1.

Welcome to the first installment of what I hope to be a consistant series of updates between now and Feb when we head into the studio to record our new album.

Things are off to a really good start, we have written the music for roughly 5 tracks thus far, they are really rough, but they are good starting points. For those of you who are fans of both of our previous records, I think you can expect another to add to your list. Judging from where we are at right now, you can expect this record to be a little faster and a little heavier at points, but at the same time I don't think we are writing exactly what you would typically expect from our band. We have been really trying to make a conscience effort to step out of the box a bit, while staying true to the style that we have been crafting for the last 5 years. I think this record will prove to be our best album to date.

Thats about all I can say at this point. I know we plan to start demo-ing some songs later in the month which will allow Karl to start working on some vocals. We don't plan to mak these demos available, but at least I will be able to describe them to you as they happen.

Our new album part. 2 (Enter Devin Towsend)
Current mood: excited

Hey everyone!!
I thought that I would be doing updates on this a lot more often but there hasn't been all that much to report. Now I finally have something new to share with everyone, so lets begin.
First off we are extremely excited to announce that the power house maniacal genius, the one, the only Devin Townsend will be producing the new Misery Signals album (still yet to be titled). For those of you who are unfamiliar with Dev, he produced our first full length "Of malice and the magnum heart". Dev has worked with a long list of talented bands and it is an extreme privilege to be working with him again for another album.

This we headed down to our rehearsal space bright and early and began doing some pre production demos to send to Devin. We recorded ten brand spanking new songs, most of which should make the album. The band will be splitting ways over the holidays for a couple weeks, then we will reunite in early January to write a few more songs, get some more demos together and once again send them to Dev.

We recently announced some dates in Japan scheduled for late January(with Bane, Sworn Enemy and Set your goals) , upon our return we will head into the studio Feb 1st in Vancouver, British Columbia to be production on our new album.

Once again, its hard to express in words just how excited we are to be back working with Dev, and how excited we are about our material. I said it before and I will say it again, I think if you are fan of MS, you will really enjoy what we have come up with this time around.

So keep checking in, I will do my best to keep posting more as things progress further.

Our new album part.3 (merry xmas)

Hey everyone!!! Merry Xmas, Happy holidays, whatever and so on...

We have all been in our respective homes for the holiday season, and today I got a wonderful xmas present which was the first batch of our correctly recorded and mixed demos for the new record.
I am really excited to be able to listen to all the songs with a decent mix, there is so much going on between Ryan and my guitar parts and Bballs drumming that I had not heard clearly until today.
I wish I was able to let you guys hear it, but alas... I cannot.

Anyway, enjoy your holidays and keep your eyes and ears open for our new record in 2008.
