P-47 Thunderbolt.
To o czarnym D-28 pisało w The Mighty Eight. Florida Members. Kyle, I personally know you have been trying your hardest to organize a meet up in the past down here. Honestly I think out of everyone, you have tried the hardest, if not you are amongst the top three people that have. I don't personally blame you for giving up on the scene down here or a meet up occuring.
However, as I've said in the past, one of the problems that I've seen seeing with the attempts to organize meet ups down here in Florida is that even though this is a state in general, it's a state with various internal regions. Yes people are lazy, but some people also don't have time money to travel long distance, or the transportation (such as myself), or I...and I know I will get chewed out for this one, the time. Yes, we can try to organize a meet up in Orlando, a centralized city so that everyone can travel approximately the same distance (except for those that live in Orlando already of course), and we can try organizing it months in advance like we tried doing for the summer meet-up. Problem is that eather we aren't then able to get/agree on a place to meet up, the idea fizzles out, or people aren't able to eather get time off work (or school), or find rides there. Yes, it can be approximately only four hours away, but that's four hours each way...so that eather means having to also plan for a place that you yourself can stay the night at, or anticipate atleast eight hours of driving. This can be a major turn off for alot of people. As for trying to organize meet-ups at clubs where major DJs will be playing, or there will be some sort of party, that brings up another slew of problems. There is always the age restriction limit and there is also the finacial hit. Eather people don't honestly have the cash to shell out to see a major DJ and travel to the city they will be spinning at, if they are under 18 or 21 they won't be able to get in, OR in the instances where it's an all ages party where there will be local and semi-local DJs, people from out of the area won't want to travel several hundred miles to see someone they can see just about any time.
So, how can we fix all of this. Well, as it's been stated before, we need to regionalize for the moment. As I stated earlier, Florida is a large state. And because of this I believe that for the near future the only way to organize any sort of meet-up would be on a regional level. Atleast this way the issues with transportation, distance, and time are reduced. Even if just two or three people show up to these regional meet-ups, atleast it would be more headway then what we currently have.
But yeah....I am done ranting. As I said before dude, I don't blame you for giving up. Personally though, I am not. Or atleast, I am not giving up on the dream that atleast regional meet-ups could be set up.
