  TPS - Black Screens On December 31st

On 31 December 2008 all the screens of the French DTH provider TPS (Television Par Satellite), will turn black foreve, and the merger with rival Canal Group will come into effect . Ever since it started broacasting, TPS was available from the Hot Bird satellites at 13 degrees east . Current subscribers of TPS who wished to be transferred to to CanalSat have have their satellite dished re-posiitoned in the last couple of months as the CanalSat service is available via the Astra 1 satellites at 19.2 degrees east.

CanalSat acquired about 100,000 new subscribers from the merger with TPS , but the dream, to become the sole DTH provider in France faded lately with the launch of the new Orange service that launches officially today. The third DTH provider BIS is considered a fringe competitor only.

Rebel TV is a new television station from 4fun.tv. Rebel TV will offer rock music, smooth jazz, thematic programmes and materials for adults. According to the plans, the second channel from 4fun.tv should start transmission in September or October. Rebel TV is a station for older audience than MTV.


Later this year the new channel will appear in the offer of satellite platforms and cable networks in Poland. Broadcaster of the channel, 4fun.tv, wants to launch another new television channel directed to viewers in the age of 18-39 years.

Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, Gameloft president Michel Guillemot has revealed his software studio will be releasing the official Terminator Salvation iPhone game on the day of the movie's US release, May 22nd.

"We wanted to really push the graphics to the limit on this game because of the intensity and power of the action scenes in the film," says Guillemot.

"We worked closely with Halcyon to make sure that the game complemented the film in a way which not only was true to the storyline, but also brought an added value for the player when they bought the game."

The film has received much of its attention thanks to childish, self-important outbursts from cockney-squire-turned-Hollywood-hot-property Christian Bale, who takes on the role of John Connor. The story follows Connor as he battles it out with Skynet in 2018, when the machines begin to rise up.

From the concept art released by Gameloft, it appears as though we can expect some Gears of War-style covered shooting, along with multiplayer action, full 3D visuals and a variety of weapons.

Gameloft has put out its share of movie based games in the past, with the usual mixed bag of great adaptations and painful marketing gimmicks. But Guillemot promises Terminator Salvation will hold playability above all else - including film studio marketing.

"The development team working on this title were quite driven and passionate about the license because they all grew up watching the Terminator franchise," he continues.

"At the end of the day, the consumer establishes a relationship with the publisher and you either come to trust their product or not. Gameloft has always been credited with high production values in the media and from our competitors, so I am confident this game will do well."

Launch Radio Networks donosi: pomimo powtarzających się zapewnień, że nadchodząca przerwa w działalości nie oznacza końca zespołu, System of a Down wyglądał na zespół na krawędzi rozpadu podczas tegorocznego letniego festiwalu Ozzfest w czwartek, 29 czerwca w Auburn (ok. 30 mil od Seattle). Zgodnie z informacjami MTV.com członkowie Systemu przybyli na miejsce spotkania osobnymi autobusami.
